Description of the Job

The Laboratory Assistant position will involve cloning of vectors, including crispr/cas9 plasmids, and general support for projects in a number of different solid tumors. The successful candidate will assist with studies involving molecular mechanisms and drug efficacy using simple and complex laboratory experiments for required procedures.

Required Qualifications

- Knowledge of basic molecular biotechnology, biochemistry and biology.
- Relevant laboratory knowledge and experience including ability to calculate molarities and make up complex solutions, understanding of acid-base titration, and ability to work with DNA and protein.
- Cloning experience in bacteria and/or mammalian cells.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain Web-based database and update forms/procedures.
- Ability to serve as a team member and to continuously refine protocols and procedures for efficiency and effectiveness.

Preferred Qualifications

- B.S. in Biology or above, Biochemistry or Molecular Biology or equivalent applicable training.
- Extensive knowledge of basic molecular biotechnology, biochemistry and biology with relevant laboratory experience that includes the ability to calculate molarities and make up complex solutions.
