|Description of General Responsibilities||
Serves as Research Assistant to Dr. Randall Merchant and Dr. Raymond Colello. The incumbent for this position will be required to participate activities involved with the Virginia Neuroscience Initiative (VNI) at VCU. This will include participating in clinical research involving the preparation, collection, and compilation of research data in connection with clinical trials and observational studies being done at VCU. This will include the screen electronic medical records for patients matching screening criteria, determining initial eligibility based on inclusion and exclusion criteria, completing screen logs, case report forms, other tracking documents, and data entry, interacting with eligible patients, transporting and processing biospecimens according to study-specific protocols, and conducting other study-related activities in accordance with study-specific protocols and training. Supervise and train research assistants working on the clinical research projects. Assists in preparing IRB submissions and periodic reports relating to research progress and accomplishments. Assist with administrative tasks related to research implementation such as scheduling meetings and conference calls for working groups, disseminating communications via email, and keeping notes of study meetings associated with the VNI.
-Bachelors degree or equivalent related training and/or experience. Major study in nursing or neuroscience preferred.
