Description of the Job

A State of Virginia-funded postdoctoral position in assessing mechanisms of inflammatory-induced chronic pain is immediately available in the Department of Surgery at Virginia Commonwealth University. The position will use rodent models of injury and disease, as well as cell culturing techniques to assess neuroinflammatory, neuropathological, neurobehavioral and epigenetic regulation of chronic pain.

Required Qualifications

Candidates with a PhD. in neuroscience, particularly in neurobiology and molecular biology, and experience working with rodent models of injury and disease is desirable.
Ability to work in a diverse environment required.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience working with cell cultures and molecular biology is a plus.
