Children’s Hospital of Richmond of the Virginia Commonwealth University Health System has committed itself to transforming the NICU into a model academic unit devoted to excellence in clinical care, teaching, and clinical, translational, and basic research in Neonatal disease and service delivery.
|Chief purpose of this position in support of above mission or goal||
The Division is seeking a full-time academic Neonatologist with specific interest and experience in neonatal medicine training, education, and mentorship. The ideal candidate will be an energetic, dynamic leader with a record of scholarly activity within the area of education and career development. The candidate would assume the role of Fellowship Program Director, developing further the fellowship training program aided by a program coordinator and an Associate Program Director. Clinician-educator who will provide a mix of direct clinical care, clinical administrative and QA/QI activities, didactic and bedside teaching for students, residents and fellows, and pursuit of a plan of academic efforts that may include research or other activities that meet the needs of the unit and the individual.
Expected responsibilities include clinical care, neonatal follow-up, ECMO, hypothermia treatment, teaching responsibilities as well as opportunity to continue established clinical or bench research.
